Congratulations to former ArizonaLEND Trainee Ivette Merced for receiving the P.E.O. Scholar Award

"The data from my research will deliver quantitative and qualitative information as it relates to bilingual and multicultural school psychologist training, leadership and supervisory experiences. I will use my dissertation to explore what is working and what is not working in the supervision and university training of bilingual and multicultural school psychologists. This is just a first step in my larger goals which include, doing more research on training, leadership and supervision in school psychology, developing a curriculum for universities and field supervisors, and advocating at both the local and federal levels for more school psychologists in the schools who can do both assessment and mental health work. I want to address the workforce shortage by lobbying congress for more federal funding for school psychologists and mental health support. My dissertation will serve as a foundational piece of research to guide my post-graduate work." - Ivette Merced, Psychologist (NCSP) M.A., M.A., Ed.S
