Fellow led Discussion of Transitions, Nutrition and Eating, Early Diagnosis of ASDs, Federal Special Education Law

Leadership:

·         Leaders in a Culturally Diverse Environment

·         Cross-cultural Competencies

·         Guest Speakers from various cultures will share their backgrounds related to medicine, religion, culture, and more

·         Small group discussions

 

Research:

·         Social and Behavioral Research

o    Types of Research

o    Pros/Cons

o    Journal Club #3 (Two Fellows contribute seminal or emerging research; 20 minutes per person)

§  Contributing Fellow presents a 3-5 minute overview of the article

§  Fellows meet in small groups for 5 minutes to discuss the article

§  Large group discussion about article strengths and weaknesses and the “takeaway”

 

Fellow Review of Transitions, Nutrition and Eating, Early Diagnosis of ASDs & Federal Education Law

·         Fellow generated quizzes on all areas based on curriculum (Manual, Seminar Activities, Notes and PowerPoints

·         Large Group Discussion of answers to quizzes

Assignments for Fellow Review:

Team 1:            Develop 5-10 question Quiz on materials presented during the Nutrition and Eating Seminar

Team 2:            Develop 5-10 question Quiz on concepts presented during the Transitions Seminars

Team 3:            Develop 5-10 question Quiz on concepts presented during the Early Diagnosis of ASDs Seminar

Team 4:            Develop 5-10 question Quiz on concepts presented during the Federal Education Law
